چکیده

Digital Light Processing Bioprinting In article 2201877, Zhenxing Wang, Jiaming Sun, and co-workers introduce a novel microtissue bioink prepared by crosslinking acellular matrix microparticles GelMA hydrogel with specific proportion. For instance, digital light processing (DLP)-bioprinted ear is created using microtia chondrocytes bioink. The composite for DLP printing not only enables accurate assembly of organ building blocks but also provides 3D shelter to ensure printed cells' viability.

Engineering alginate as bioink for bioprinting.

Recent advances in three-dimensional (3-D) printing offer an excellent opportunity to address critical challenges faced by current tissue engineering approaches. Alginate hydrogels have been used extensively as bioinks for 3-D bioprinting. However, most previous research has focused on native alginates with limited degradation. The application of oxidized alginates with controlled degradation i...

Three-dimensional bioprinting using self-assembling scalable scaffold-free “tissue strands” as a new bioink

Recent advances in bioprinting have granted tissue engineers the ability to assemble biomaterials, cells, and signaling molecules into anatomically relevant functional tissues or organ parts. Scaffold-free fabrication has recently attracted a great deal of interest due to the ability to recapitulate tissue biology by using self-assembly, which mimics the embryonic development process. Despite s...

Bioink properties before, during and after 3D bioprinting.

Bioprinting is a process based on additive manufacturing from materials containing living cells. These materials, often referred to as bioink, are based on cytocompatible hydrogel precursor formulations, which gel in a manner compatible with different bioprinting approaches. The bioink properties before, during and after gelation are essential for its printability, comprising such features as a...

Dual-Stage Crosslinking of a Gel-Phase Bioink Improves Cell Viability and Homogeneity for 3D Bioprinting.

Current bioinks for cell-based 3D bioprinting are not suitable for technology scale-up due to the challenges of cell sedimentation, cell membrane damage, and cell dehydration. A novel bioink hydrogel is presented with dual-stage crosslinking specifically designed to overcome these three major hurdles. This bioink enables the direct patterning of highly viable, multicell type constructs with lon...
